Surgery updates (check this post for updates)

7:30 PM
Last update for the night - Hanna is officially out of surgery and in recovery! Her doctors said she did great - during her 3 hours of "awake" time she talked their ears off, even though she didn't have to talk as part of the test (though those of us who know her well are not surprised). Her anesthesiologist reiterated that Hanna was very strong, and deserved a lot of love and rest from all of us. She should be able to have a couple of visitors within the hour. She'll move to an in-between unit next, not the ICU and not the regular floor. She will have another MRI tomorrow, which is standard procedure. They will see her doctor for a follow up tomorrow afternoon.

Any further updates will come from Hanna and her family when they are ready to share next steps and details. A quick reminder: Tomorrow is a family day for Hanna, so no visitors please. We hope she will be ready for visitors by Wednesday/Thursday, but please check in with Hanna/Jeff/Wren/Houston family before making the trip just to be sure she's up for visitors. Thanks for your love, prayers, and understanding. Team #Hanna!

6:00 PM
They are closing her up and finishing up, and everyone should hear from the doctors within the hour. Keep the thoughts and prayers coming, Hanna is doing great!

4:30 PM
Hanna is sleeping once more. They did a scan and decided to keep going on the removal. Depending on the process they could wrap up in 1 hour, or they will give another update in 2 hours.

2:30 PM
Hanna is still awake and they are still in the removal process. Once the removal process is complete they will need to close her up. She is still doing well and is still stable.

11:45 AM
Hanna is in the awake phase of the procedure so they can test her left side motor skills. She is doing well and is stable.

9:30 AM
From Sarah:
Got the 2 hour update just now. They finished the points outline and numbing and are just beginning to operate. They said it would be a slow start - 2 hours is a bit more than we were expecting - but all is well. The incision will be all along her forehead/hairline. Keep up the prayers! Thank you!

7:30 AM
From Sarah:
Hanna's surgery is beginning! Dr. F is in charge now. Hanna is very calm, very ready. They now plan to fully wake her up at one point and test her left side motor skills. That will be very weird! They asked her if she wanted to call anyone at that point. She said NO!
